GETTING

there

Depending on your route and trip length, you have a couple different options to get to Coron:

By Sea: Take a ferry from El Nido [3 hours], Puerto Princesa [10 hours], or Manila [17 hours].

By Air: Fly from Manila to Busuanga Airport [1 hour flight]. You can also take a cheaper flight to Puerto Princesa Airport [] and then travel by land and ferry.

By Land: Take a bus or van from Puerto Princesa City to El Nido Town (5-6 hours). From there take a ferry from El Nido to Coron.

Island Hopping

Explore the famous Twin Lagoon, Barracuda Lake, and Banana Island on a guided tour.

If guided tours aren't your vibe you can also rent a kayak and explore hidden coves at your own pace.

Not to miss: Trek to the top of Mount Tapyas for a panoramic view of Coron Bay.

WHERE TO

If you are on a budget Dayon is the most affordable hostel. Unlike other options there is no pool, but it was clean, conveniently located, and had hot showers. They offer dorm rooms as well as private rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

The best choice if you are looking for a modern stay in the heart of Coron. This hotel has a rooftop patio with an ocean view, as well as a communal kitchen.

Zuri

high-end

Zuri Resort directly overlooks Coron Bay, with a outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, and breakfast buf. It's a higher-end option if you are looking to splurge to have all amenities.

Cafes and Breakfast

We spent basically every morning grabbing breakfast or sammies from Tupi Cafe. They also had amazing frappes and pasta at the most affordable prices we could find.

Dinner Spots

Not gonna lie, the obsession with Trattoria Altrove was real. We went back here three times because the pizza and chocolate mousse were insane. Make sure to make a reservation or be prepared to wait cause this spot is popular for a reason!
